Hello, I am Theresa. Welcome to Delicacious!
I started this blog in August 2009 to chronicle the recipes that I was making. Previously, I had scribbled down recipes (and lost them) and thought that documenting it online could be a good idea. The name Delicacious came about as I considered the things that I thought food to be. Delicacious is a combination of three words: Delicious, Delightful, Delicacies. Every morsel should be a source of delight, not just to the consumer but also to the creator.
I started cooking when I was in secondary school. I was very interested in Home Economics and started baking experiments in the kitchen, much to my mom’s dismay as it often left her kitchen in disarray. My mom never really taught me how to cook; I picked up most of my cooking skills from reading good cook books and experimenting. A couple of years back, I married a foodie and now that I have my own kitchen, I am free to cook and bake whenever I wish. Oh what bliss! My first gift to myself after we moved in was a KitchenAid mixer. 🙂
In 2011, we had our baby girl and my blog went into a hiatus with me coping with a full-time job and motherhood. The cooking and baking did not stop though. In fact, I cooked and baked more as I wanted to ensure that my bub always had the best homecooked meals. Now with her turning two, I have slightly more time to devote to my blog and so I hope to be able to share more kitchen adventures with you.
I invite you to join me in this journey of food discovery through Delicacious! Thank you for visiting and keep in touch!
